If you’re from the UK then you may not know this but many countries around the world have boat buses. These are just like buses but they operate in cities with large rivers, so you’ll see them in Brisbane, Amsterdam and Bruges among other cities across the globe. With a boat bus you get convenient travel to the other side of the water and it’s essentially a way of getting around without having to walk over large bridges. Take Brisbane as an example; there are two main bridges either side of the city centre, also called the CBD. This means that the boat buses are needed constantly and you only have to wait at a stop for 20 minutes max. There are many free ferries providing this service too and it really is a godsend in cities with large rivers.
