Redesigning your Cabin Seats
Upholstery that can date significantly (if your boat is an old one) is the seats or bunks. On river boats and yachts they tend to be foam pads on top of plywood but they don’t have to appear this old and basic.
It can be relatively easy to redesign your cabin seats, and by choosing a new fabric to cover will not always do. First you should think about comfort and installing springs, if they are a little tired. You can then install new foam pads, finish the plywood and then add a new cover. The cover should ideally be a material that’s known for its strength such as leather, while the colour should ideally suit the decor in your cabin.
Every boat is unique, and even a non experienced boater will be able to liven up their cabin with new cabin seats. Remember you don’t have to use brand new upholstery and there may some used materials found at bargain prices with a style that suits the tone of your cabin, so get planning today.
