Fiberglass Rowing boats are much faster than Wooden Boats
Rowing is a favoured sport in the UK and can be enjoyed in many rivers, canals and broads across the UK. Rowing boats typically in the 1960’s where made out of wood because it was a robust enough material to hold 4 or even 8 strapping men who most likely weighed in the region of 80kg or more.
Since then the technology orientated around rowing boats have developed and we now see boats becoming lighter, more agile and sturdier, a unique aspect that some carbon fibre models boast about.
This works hand in hand with many professional rowers and athletes who are training in the addicting sport. The typical fibreglass shells can still be heavy and are less tensile than that of carbon fibre. However, the cost associated with a fibreglass hull is much lower than that of the super high end models that use carbon fibre coated polymers to provide a smooth finish.
