Goodbye boating season
As we come to the end of September, it’s time to say goodbye to boating season as we know it in the UK. You only have to look at the marinas to see that most boat owners have now moored their boats up and covered them until next spring. It’s a shame to take a walk down to the river and not see any boats there, but soon the winter breeze will arrive and you can’t blame the boating community for heading back to their warm cosy homes. Of course, there will be a few brave soldiers who take their boat out in the winter, and you might be okay during the month of October, however, November and December are really bad months for journeys up and down the river. The cold waters can actually damage your boat, so if you do plan on a winter boat ride, do so with caution.
